Department of Environment (DOE) These are a few of the Regulations : Environmental Quality (Clean Air) – Regulation 1978 a)Ambient Air Monitoring b)Isokinetic Stack Monitoring In any trade, industry, process, fuel burning equipment or industrial plant ( other than plant or equipment used for the heating of metals) in the operation of which dust or other solid particles are emitted, the concentration at any point of any smoke, soot, dust, ash (including flyash) cinders, cement, lime, alumina, grit or other solid particles of any kind shall be such that the total mass of such solid particles before admixture with air, smoke or other gases does not exceed Standard A: 0.6, Standard B: 0.5, Standard C: 0.4 gramme in each normal cubic metre of effluent gases Environmental Quality (Sewage and Industrial Effluents) – Regulation 1979 a)Waste Water Sample Analysis b)Sewage Sample (Septic Tank) These regulations shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st January 1979 except for those sources in existence before this date, these Regulations shall come into force on January 1, 1981.
